In the sunny savanna of Africa
Somewhere between here and Kenya
Our Lady Z. Zebra grabs her favorite magazine
and trots down to the most popular pool in town.

'What flavor milkshake do we have today?'
says Giles as he takes a long neck sip, 'Mmmm! Strawberry!'

Mustapha the Girraffe keeps
an eye on the Pool Shark.
'He's way back there in
the deep end, don't worry!' he shouts.

'I'm staying near the shallow end then!'
exclaimed the Water Buffalo,
paddling off with is Buffalo Water Wings.

Over there is Horace the Hippo with Henry and Hilda
Swimming laps and singing
traditional Spanish Hippo Swimming songs..

Kevin the Crab crawls along
the bottom of the pool
Keeping an eye on Stingray Sam,
who likes to pull the plug whenever he can.

The Monkeys all take turns to
jump in, climb out, jump in,
climb out and jump in again.

Malcolm the Springboard Monkey
prepares for a super monkey leap into the pool.
Right near my head.

Neville the naked Monkey
is a feeling a little mischeivous today.
He has lost his swimming costume
again but jumps in all the same...

'Go on, give us a fish!' he bubbles
as he swims across the pool after Golly...

With a super leap, Golly the Goldfish
leaps clean out of the pool over and around the corner...

'Good Golly!' shout the other goldfish, very impressed.

So Golly, Molly and Brolly start to
practice for the next Fishy Lympics
'Triple back flip with a twin fin finale'
shouts Molly as the others bubble applause.

'Did you see that? Very clever fish'
said one of the swimming trunks to the other...

'Splosh, splutter' said the other trunk,
being full of water.

While Sandra the Sunken Elephant blows bubbles
Steven the swimming Anaconda
tries to hiss under the water,
but as you know if you have ever
tried hissing underwater,
a hiss is more a hish-bubble-bubble.

Oliver the Other Sunken Elephant gives Phillis the Flamingo a head start.

And finally there is me, Joe the Lion
King of the Serengeti Swimming Pool
On my floatable throne
Tanning my mane with my friends.
